New Peer-Reviewed Accessibility Publication from Roman Public Health Consulting LLC

"We encourage public health professionals to look beyond compliance to apply a human rights lens to accessibility and civic health equity work."

Where to Find the Paper:

I'm excited to share a new publication in the journal Health Promotion Practice (HPP), co-authored with Nailah Henry, MPH, CCRC, titled "Advancing Accessibility to Improve Civic Health Equity."

The publication is included in HPP's growing collection on civic health equity.

Why You Should Read the Paper:

In the paper, we present specific action steps to help our field meet technical accessibility standards, create team-based approaches to accessibility planning, and advocate against current threats to voting rights and access.

We highlight specific practice implications, including how you can integrate civic health equity and accessibility into all areas of work, including:

  • Assessment

  • Education

  • Advocacy

  • Planning and Implementation

  • Evaluation

I’d Love To Hear From You:

  • Are you already integrating civic health equity and/or accessibility planning into your public health and health promotion work? If yes, please share how!

  • If working on these topics is new for you, please share any challenges you’ve encountered (or anticipate!)

If you have any questions about the paper, please comment below or feel free to reach out via email.

Thanks in advance for reading and sharing the article!
