Description of E-learning Instructional Designer vs. Developer Graphic

While e-learning instructional designers and developers both collaborate with clients to develop, test, and implement effective e-learning experiences, their roles and responsibilities are different.

Instructional designers create the blueprint for the learning experience by conducting front-end analysis, creating learning objectives, working with subject matter experts, writing scripts and storyboards, etc.

Developers take the instructional designer’s vision and create a concrete format by developing interactive learning experiences with authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Rise and Storyline), designing navigation, animations, etc.
